How the pet portraits are created

All pet portraits are painted with acrylic paint. I do my absolute best as an artist to represent every animal exactly as they are with my style incorporated into it.

❔ HOW TO ORDER ❔

  • You will first choose the size you would like and place the item in ur cart. (More sizes will be available in the near future)

  • If two fur babies are involved then only 11x14 and 16x20 canvases are available. This allows plenty of room for those perfect details for the painting to look amazing without seeming too crowded on the canvas.

❔HOW CAN I CHOOSE THE BACKGROUND ❔

  • PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL!!

  • At the checkout please include your email in order to send me pictures of your fur baby and so we can discuss more in depth about the color background.

❔ HOW LONG WILL MY PORTRAIT TAKE❔

  • 8X8, 8x10, and 9x12 inch canvases can take 15-18 days to fully complete. (This excludes shipping time.) Depending where you live and the type of shipping you choose, it can take a few more days for your portrait to arrive, 11x14 and 16x20 inch canvases can take 18-25 days (excludes shipping time) to fully complete and be shipped out. Once again shipping depends on where you live and the shipping you choose.

PROCESS OF COMPLETING THE PORTRAIT

  • Once you send me a picture (or multiple) of your pet I can begin to create a sketch of your fur baby on canvas. I then use a thin layer of gesso (a base layer for the paint) over the sketch. I begin painting layer after layer (most portraits have 5-8 layers). I use acrylic painting on all portraits. 
    After the last layer I allow the painting to dry up to 24 hours before adding on the varnish (varnish gives the glossy outcome and protects the paint from fading and yellowing over time) Allowing another 24 hours for the varnish to fully dry I then package it up safely for the trip and ship it out to its new home.
